Math states properties like Multiplication Division Addition and Subtraction also, more. In math, there are rules called properties that help with solving problems. Here are the basic properties

  • Addition is commutative and associative. You can change the order or group numbers, and 0 doesn’t change the answer.

  • Subtraction is not commutative or associative. The order matters.

  • Multiplication is also commutative and associative. Multiplying by 1 keeps the number the same, and multiplying by 0 gives 0.

  • Division is not commutative or associative. Dividing by 1 keeps the number the same.
